DOGS
There are a lot of breed of dogs (over 400), from the schnauzer
to the Great Dane. Dogs are very furry in fact they have fur all over their
whole body. Actually some have no hair at all and look like rats, some have
really long hair and some are a little strange looking.
They are all different shapes and sizes like us. They have sharp teeth and claws which need clipping and looking after. They are the most loyal pet you can have. As the saying goes “Dogs look up and cats look down”!
Farmers teach dogs to
chase animals into the right spot on the farm, especially sheep and cattle.
There are even dogs now that have been bred to look like sheep and protect the
sheep at night from foxes or predators. Dogs can often do more work than humans
and save the farmers time.
Some celebrities and socialites have dogs as accessories,
they fit nicely in handbags.
Some dogs are eaten in countries ( not the sausage dog) and
relied upon to save lives and transport food.
Finally some people have dogs to protect them in their homes
and some people just have dogs as pets who become part of the family.
One thing I cant stand is animal cruelty. There are hundreds of dogs a year handed into
Animal shelters because they have been neglected or mistreated. Places like the
RSPCA try and re-house these animals. Remember a puppy is not just for Christmas
it is for life. You can now go to jail for harming animals as well as big
fines. Sorry that was very doom and gloom here is a short image to change the

Some dogs are trained to act like humans in movies such as
Marley in ”Marly and me”, Marmaduke and Scooby Doo. They are often hilarious characters and
awesome actors. Often people who see the movies love dogs.

But really that there is only one dog in the world that really matters. She has a moustache, stands one metre tall on two legs and is a scruffy schnauzer. Her name is Charlie
